Nicest on-slope spot in Whistler
Think about it. You don’t want to get on a bus or carry your skis through town. You want the kids to have easy access to ski camp. You want to relax at the Fairmont apres-ski. You want to cook your own food. You want to have a lovely, ten-minute, evening walk over a covered bridge into the center of Whistler. The Aspens as it all. We have stayed here six times and loved it every single time (especially when there’s fresh snow). The front desk is spartan, but the services available are great: coffee cart, free phone calls anywhere, ski shop, ski check-in. It’s the easiest place to be at Whistler-Blackcomb!
Great Accommodations on Blackcomb
Not long back from a brilliant stay at The Aspens. The location is second to none. It sits almost on the slope and can be cruised back to every day down any of the blue runs to Blackcomb base. Perfectly placed to start an evening with a wander/sledge down to Merlin’s for a couple of jugs of Kokanee before heading into Whistler (which is a 5 minute walk through the trees – no problem). Great accommodation, 2 bedroom apartment was roomy enough for 6 guys with a sofabed in the lounge. Kitchen was fine – who needs it with the flawless restaurants in WB anyway…!? Gas fire in the lounge made for a relaxing apartment. Clean bathrooms, with 2 showers and a bath. Superb hot tubs (again practically on the slope!). Guys on the desk were unhelpful as they worked for ResortQuest and we booked through a UK travel agent (Inghams), but then who cares……we didn’t need their assistance really anyway. Great value for money too. Can’t speak highly enough of The Aspens – just book it!
